Hey My Bro has an 85 XJ. The front driveshaft is the CV style and it breaks all the time. I was just wondering what other driveshafts will fit in there. We tried to take one out of a 92 but the yoke is a different spline. The 85 has just a flat plate on it, sorta like the toyotas, rather than ujoint bolts like the rest.

[cheers] What you need to do is get a long white rag, soak in gas thoroughly, stuff down the gas fill on the jeep and proceed to light on fire.. Should cure your problem.. Works for all jeep problems.[cheers]

my advice is to keep a CV type shaft (actaully dual cardan) because of the very short length of the shaft, and the harsh angles jeeps incur... my shafts are from tom woods. Give them a shot.... my shafts are near bullet proof,

just used a stock exploder front shaft on my buds, but its just a 4 inch short arm lift.

Well we have the cv style, and just got a later model cherokee drive shaft(double cardon) shortened. But they are different, the CV style sucks donkey nuts

Weird that your having so much issues with it?! Is this thing lifted?

It's lifted with a spartan locker up front. The 85 is part time all the time. The cv style just doesn't hold up. That's why we got the later model double cardon and shortened it.
