I faxed all the paper work to the us side as they requested (by fax )and 4 days later i got an email stating the fax dosnt work. They now want me to email the papers and the 72 hrs starts again.
Heather and I went state side on thursday to pick up the CJ. The weather was great and we decided to make a holiday out of it.
Thursday night we tucked into the Belingham wall-mart for the night. We had about 25 other canuks camping with us. We walked the store and looked for wall-martians. Yes there were a bunch of them!!!
Friday started the holiday and we headed to the coast. We followed the shore along to the Port Townsend ferry and then followed the coast to Cape Flattery and south following the shore. We spotted a symbol on the map for a hot spring up a forest service road. the fact that the truck & camper trailer combo was only 42 feet long never played in our plans. As dusk hit we were 500 meters up when a blinding snow storm hit. In 20 min 2 inches of snow and no letup in site!!
I chickened out and headed for lower ground. As all the state parks are closed we found a great boat ramp to camp on. The oak trees are huge and moss covered.
We headed inland and picked up the beast in Ravensdale.
A few days in the mountains and then headed home.
At the US boarder all went well and they rubber stamped my paperwork in less than a minute. The guard at the Canadian side was a Jeep nut and talked our ears off. He sent us in without any checks and said he would keep the cost as low as he could. The inside lady saw the Washington collector plates and never even went to see the jeep. She told us to wait and in 20 min she called us over. All was good and she apologized she could only get the cost down to $4.96. I almost pissed my pants. The jeep is stretched, 14 inches of lift and on full size axles. I guess that I got lucky today!!!!!!!!
Heather took about 300 pics and I weeded it down a lot. (sorry)
