So after the roll I have noticed a clicking noise coming from the front end kinda like a baseball card in the spoke of a tire. When it speeds up almost invisible. More prominent when going slow in 1st, 2nd gear

Have checked all fluids in tcase, tranny, diffs , oil etc. all good

Have checked all bushings , control arms , tranny mounts, motor mounts.
Also have disconnected front driveshaft and still there. Have not pulled shafts in front end yet. But seems to be no play in hub ujoints either.

Really stumped.

Maybe you loosened one of those nuts in your head after the rollover :D

kinds sounds like a bent axle. If you're running the stock axles, switch to the chromolly.

They are all loose Brett :)

Fawk i hope it isnt a bent axle. It doesnt make that sound when in neutral though. My wheels/axles always turn so that cant be it. Otherwise it would click in neutral

Yes that is right.

I had the same thing happening for a bit. I never figured it out before it stopped but I figure it was other a stick somewhere or the axle is tiny bit bent or shifted some how causing the lunch box locker to click.

Well after 3 hours with rear end jacked and gone thru gears. Check bearings f/r , ujoints. We have narrowed down to Tcase linkage rattlin on body. So i have ordered the AA Tcase bracket which moves it off the body. Common problem in TJ.

Hopefully that does it. Will report back once done

Fenders all bent back, door frame bent back

Well after installing Tcase bracket , the annoying tapping on body is gone :) BUT noise is still there under acceleration..sooo its not the linkage for that feel/noise. Back to square one.

Hellboy i posted pics in the "Spring Camp" pics last page

Took the jeep to my Gear guy and we inspected the rear end

We got under it today and got the rear wheels in the air and applied brake pressure to simulate a load being on it . While sitting under it I noticed the clicking was coming from the CV joint/tcase output . So we take out driveshaft and inspect and seems fine , check yolk on output of sye and its fine. He said everything seemed fine .

So we check pinion angles and they are dialed in , measure the control arm distance (as I have adjustable upper/lowers) and they were exact .....we are stumped ...

so we are putting the driveshaft back on , connecting the cv end and Harry notices that one of the Ujoint clips is out of the groove above the cap . So I take a socket and hammer, while connected, and hammer on the clip to try and move cap back and click it in the groove. Well after some love we get it in and use a flathead to notch the bottom clip in ...and all of a sudden the NOISE IS GONE wtf!!!!

Could a ujoint clip in the CV joint actually cause this chatter and cause driveshaft to shake even the tcase???

never thought but I guess just the slight movement of the Ujoint up/down without the clip holding the one end in tight could cause .. so f'ing happy .... for now

Here is a video of the driveshaft under load and a pic .... just to get opinions on how the angles are ...thanks
