thankfully, i do not have a jeep or jeep related problem.
but a guy i work with does.

89 yj stock diffs with a 305 swapped in. he thinks its a 700r4 trans/transer case out of an astro??

he doesnt see any way to shift the t case out of 4wd.

what tranny t case will work for him with stock jeep diffs?

If it's an astro it's an all=wheel drive, not 4wheel dirve. More like a quadratrac transfer case, versus a 2/4 wheel transfer case. Depending on what side the drop is (probably left fron pumpkin) I'd say a 231, but may not bolt to a 700r4. I won't say it will. Other option is the np205 that does bolt to a th350/th400/700r4 but is a right side dump.

Give him a call and a few more answers will help him out.

a s10 case will work the jeep case wont bolt to gm trans
a th350 t case is same as 700r4
a th400 case is not wrong input and bolt pattern
was reaserching it to do a small block in the yj
was going to try mating jeep 231 back to s10 front half
as no sye available for s10 case
any ifs gm is proper drop for jeep
then i got smart and bought a land cruiser instead of building something that wasnt worth its weight in scrap

I have Chevy auto tranny bolted to a jeep transfer case for sale. $250.00 Everything worked fine when I took it out. Its been sitting for 3 years though.
