Hey everybody,

I'm looking into buying my first Tacoma I'm looking for a first gen with the 3.4 and a 5 speed and was curious if there are any things that I need to look for (besides rust) on these trucks that can go wrong. I'm fairly new to off-roading but not to cars I've had a ae86, 98 camaro ss and still have the 70 camaro that I built with my dad. But now I'm looking to get more serious about hunting and fishing so I figured a Tacoma would be a good way to go for something that I can daily drive and still be able to take into the bush. Any help is greatly appreciated.

rear axle seals, squeaky clutch linkage, and dash rattle. thats the common problems. other then that see if it had the frame recall done on it. good trucks, took me 6 months to find mine, so happy hunting.

Check out tacomaworld.com. You will find everything you would ever need or want to know about the truck in question. I'm a second gen owner myself and. Before that it was a 87 so I skipped the generation you inquiring about....

Do what I did and just get the best parts of a taco ....mmmmmmm taaccooo. E locker, 2.7 or 3.4. Best part is your frame doesn't have crumple zones.
