You got a good cop. A Young one with something to prove could have impounded it for 30 days too.

Fight the ticket if you have the time to waist... you are legally allowed to run the plates from another vehicle you own for 10 days if there is a reason you can not drive the vehicle the plates belong to or if its sold... Sold is easier to prove so I often "Sell" my DD to my best friend to run the plates on another vehicle

no you dont if the vehicle you put the plates on is in your name youre fucked
must be a newly purchased vehicle
and if you think arms length transfers work youre a bigger idiot than him
good luck if you crash or somebody crashes into you and gets hurt
hope you like kd cause thats all you ever will be able to afford
remember icbc has all the records and there the ones sueing you
or yea take it to court i did and it wound up costing me 3times as much
in fines as the original ticket just tell the judge some guy on the interweb named dreded told me it was legal let us know how it works out for ya[16]

For the record I have been pulled over with the plates from the other vehicle and showed the cop the transfer papers and after making a call to his office/dispatcher or whatever to confirm he said i could go. So if I just got lucky I dont know.. but I have phoned ICBC before to ask and they said it was fine.. once again not sure if they misunderstood. From what I have been told what I said was legal(obviously not the selling it to a friend part but who says I cant sell a car to a friend)

was the vehicle you put the plates on registerd to you
i had sold the car i took the plates off was going to insurance place when i got
pulled over
the car i was driving was registered to me
yes i had sellers copy signed and dated its called misuse of plates
so you get that fine then you get a no insurance fine
check the motor vehicle act
a icbc insurance person might not know all the rules
