Any idea's on how to make your bolt on stuff more secure from theft ?

example....lights they have the stud that goes trough the mount and then just a nut to hold them on ( 30 seconds with a wrench and there off

any idea's on how to make them harder to remove yet still allow them to be removed ?

drill and tap nut for set screw, drill partially thru bolt and insert set screw. Or drill one side of nut 1/8 hole, tighten it on, drill thru bolt and other side of nut and insert spring pin.

Sure it can be removed, but the drift and hammer will wake peeps up

Tack welds are pretty much the best.. if you don't plan on removing it any time soon, the only way to remove the tacks is either a grinder or a chisel (and that only works sometimes).

Locking pins are quiet, and not a theft deterent.

Change your bolts to Alan head bolts thieves usually done have an Alan set with them and certainly don't have the big sizes .... Or tax weld the bolt :)

I used to put all my stereo stuff together with alan head bolts. got broken into a couple of times. still had all my equipment. How about just making it impossible to get to the nuts?

I've used a nut welded to the lamp mounting bracket and then thread a 3/8" socket head bolt into the nut.
I'd think most scum bags don't carry a 3/8" Allen key with them.
Some fastener companies also sell security fasteners with special keyed bits to tighten them up.
