Much moisture involved that day? creek, or drifts sucked thru rad by fan?

however not really drying weather so skip that. How hot was the coil? Buds 440 used to die like that, we'd put a wet rag on it and 5 mins later Vroom

check the glove box, if there's a piece of paper in there that says 'toyota'

that might be your problem

Moisture seems to be your solution to everything :confused0006:

efi fuse ok? I had the blow on my 91 4Runner back in the day. Everything dead instantly.
Grabbed my highbeam fuse, stuck it in there and was up & running in a couple of minutes again.

ya crank position sensor would be a good guess. You check for any codes?

When I had my 87 I was having issues of it starting not starting dieing and it turned out to be the fuel filter. So whats your problem....

need to check for codes. with any newer engine or vehicle thats the first step.

when it died, was the check engine light on?

does your check engine light "bulb check" when you turn the key on?
if so, did it still do it when it wouldnt start?

weather or not the check engine light came on is important , if the light didnt bulb check and it usualy does, its most likely a power or ground problem to the ecm, aka relay, bad connection etc.

if the CEL did its usual thing its probably a sensor like the crank sensor. a bad crank sensor doesnt always throw a code,

or maybe its a bad fuel filter LOL!!!!!!!

haha you guys are dicks, it is a longshot for sure but it would be the most simple to try first, injectors need what like 39 psi to open?... what if??

well figured out its a fuel problem..if i put power directly to the connecter at the fuel pump it turns the pump on..this excludes fuel pump problem.. truck will start after but dies after the fuel burns off.

test the connecter at fuel pump and i get about 9-10 volts when cranking but doesnt seem to turn on the pump..

tested the circuit opening relay it tested out fine.

still digging but it has me stumped for now:dontknow:

what voltage you got at relay
think theres a conection plug in drivers kick pannel might be coroded or broken wire
youre geting voltage but no amperage to pump
try hooking a light bulb upto pump wire and see what happens
your on the right track
