Hey all!

Just heard about this site a couple of days ago now through Ry' & Jen over on Lostjeeps.

I own a 2008 Jeep KK, no mods done yet (Besides slappin on a set of AT's). Couple weeks ago I ordered an OME 2 inch lift from Jeap Thrill Customs :D and just waiting on parts to come in.

I'm not looking to do anything super crazy with it since it is my daily driver (and there's not that much out there in the after-market anyway...i think the biggest lift you can get for these things is like 4 inches)
I've tried out a couple of easy trails and FSR's out in Chilliwack(Mount Cheam area) and lookin forward to comin out for a few trail runs asap!

Here's a pic

WARNING: BONE STOCK lol....

So what did you end up buying for your lift kit?
You know you can get some 3/8 inch top plates, then add some clevis lift and you can have upwards of 3+ inches of lift.
Oh, and still have a daily driver...

I ended up just ordering the struts/shocks front and back and the springs (OME 1.5...but suppose to give slightly more than 2 inches of lift). Any advice on the 3/8 inch top plates? don't know much about this at all. Same with the clevis lift....
I was hoping to stay away from combining the full suspension lift with a spacer lift like the daystar or RK as I heard bad thing about it......is the clevis lift the same principle as the Daystar or RK spacer lift?

I realize these are probably noob questions lol.... but this if my first lift so the little I know I learned from reading forums (lost etc).

Hey Ian,
With the OME springs you'll get 2" of lift at first until the coils break in.
If you add a 3/8 top plate that will give you an additional 3/4 of an inch lift and then if you were to add 3/8" clevis lift you'll gain another 3/4" lift.
Now, here comes the problem.
Should you decide to add both lift additives the stock factory upper control arms (The yoke behind the ball joint) will hit the coil spring!
Nesessatating the need for JBA Gen 4.5 upper control arms.
Mind you they are a worth while investment as they make alignments easier to do with three plus inches of lift.

BTW, are on Jeep KJ country?

Hmm...how about if I just add the top plates? would i still need the JBA UCA's? Probably should be good then.
I'm leaning towards this then as I need to upgrade this slowly as the budget allows

1 more question for you, where can I get the top plates from? hoping to order these too then and get them installed at the same time. Thanks for the help!

If you go with just the ⅜" top plate, you should be fine with the stock upper control arms.
Now, as far as where to buy top plates, Jeepin By Al sell's inch ones
(Giving an inch of extra lift) $27.92 U.S. Dollars

Or you can PM Boiler (His name is Chip) on LOST:
http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=37511
or Jeep KJ Country:
http://www.jeepkj.com/forum/member.php?u=8093
I bought some aluminum ⅜" for $50.00 U.S.
But you can also buy steel if you desire (No real advantage!) for $80.00 U.S.

PM us and I can give you our telephone number and we can shoot the shit!
