This question is for a friend. He has a 1987? F250 diesel non turbo. Once he was been driving it for awhile, it starts to run like crap when its warm and shuts off once fully warmed up. Cools down and its good to go again. Ideas? It runs almost if its starving for fuel

That sounds to me like a fuel system and/or an electrical problem. A qualified diesel mechanic would be the person to talk to about this problem.

justins old truck? if so its got the 6.9 diesel
good thing about that truck there is almost nothing to the electrical or fuel system ;) sounds like it may be a burned out injection pump (pump on top of the motor going to injectors) you could try running a garden hose over it (DONT SPRAY IT WITH THE COLD WATER IF THE PUMP IS HOT ) if it stays running with the cool water running over it then you found your problem a bag of ice may aid in the cooling ....best thing i have seen was to pack snow around it but we dont quite have that yet lol
