ok my question is i have diffs out of a 2500 , direct bolt in , now the 2500 comes with a 3" wide spring and stiffer if i wheel my ram i would like flex so do i get a soft 3" spring or do i just stick with the half ton springs ? im not doing anything different with my truck ,camping and wheeling , no heavy loads , just beefing up the diffs , swaping out half tons before something bad happens planning on running 36-37"tires when i can afford it , unless i get a toy or jeep then i will try to use same diffs

thanks

yes the diff will bolt in you will need the rear spring plates from the 2500 and the u bolts and the front bolts in might have to u-joints to convert from the smaller 1500 size to the 2500 diffs

but do i want to use the 2500 springs if im happy the way it rides now ? keep the softer 2.5" wide half ton springs ?, dont know if im thinking right but 2500 springs will be stiffer right ? but if i stick with the 1500 springs i will still have the flex and a softer ride ? or would a 3/4 ton spring be better/stronger in bush ? what about flex on the 3/4 springs ?

sorry for all the questions but im trying to clear all questions before i start ripping the 2 trucks apart
if any one needs parts i will have some left from the 98 2500 truck

your spring hangers will need to be modified to accept the wider spring that may help with your decision ,and yes it will ride stiffer .
you may also need to modify your drive shafts in length ,parking brake cables ect ...

i would stay with the 1500 springs way better ride and better choice of lift springs for future upgrades

A 36-37 inch tire will be fine with the 1500 diffs I would not bother unless you planned on going bigger
