Ok so as it sits i have a 1993 grand cherokee with the quadra-trac system...

http://i1138.photobucket.com/albums/n537/MUDDYWATERS420/1874.jpg

So far i have a 3.5" procomp lift consisting of longer arms, coils. and shocks all the way around. It fits 31x10.5 procomp m/t's nicely!

What i am wanting to do is go to 33x12.5's. I have a set of 2'' coil spacers i havent used yet. I think thatll do as far as clearance?

Next i NEED to weld up the ass end! Is this a bad idea seeing as i drive it on the street.(remember its fulltime awd. It does still have low range of course)

With that being said i also am curious what you JEEP guys do for sliders on the unibodies like mine?

http://i1138.photobucket.com/albums/n537/MUDDYWATERS420/1846.jpg

Thanks for your help in advance.... I have the space to do this project and the tools, but i just am lacking the knowledge!

If it's a d35 I wouldn't weld it, swap it out for something else if your gonna weld it,

I should also say that this will be pulled from the road once it hits full on trail rig status!

With those 2inch spacers you may clear 33s but may need a SYE for the rear shaft. Ifs it a dana 35 don't weld that shit they don't even last with 31s and open. A good set of rock sliders are a great investment. I have JCR offroad slider on my xj and they taken some good hits and also stiffened up the body abit.

just make sure that it has a plate on the frame where the steering box is

muddyWaters

Steering is needing some support... Today i noticed it starting to weaken. Beat her hard today she was great! I now need new tires... My 31's are far 2 small.(got stuck in some ruts in the trap!) Lookin to cram some 33's goin for 2'' spacers and disconnecting sway bars. Still sortin out sliders.

SYE wont be needed for a 2 inch spacer lift.
I never needed one in mine and a 2 inch spacer lift will clear 32's with just minor trimming

I was thinking he was going to add the spacers to the 3.5 inch procomp lift he had on already.

OK so tires.... CHECK (just have to pay and pickem up)

Hope to have em on for next weekend.. Now on to the next issue?... This rig is my dd for now. IF i weld it up (rear end) being awd will that give me issues as far as reliability on road? I know i asked this before but i wanted a few more opinions first before its too late. I am trying to have it ready for the Newbie Run!!

Again thanks for the input!!

Also as far as sway bars are concerned When i take them off will this make road driving a pain???

epic3

mine drove fine without sway bars just slow down in the corners and you'll get used to the rest

Well.... Had a blast running my front axle dry and fucking up a backing plate, causing a HORRIBLE grinding sound. Spent some beers with her yaesterday and fixed her up again. Funny how being a major procrastinator catches up quick.

The time came sunday when i had to turn around and head down the mountain with my tail tucked... Had fun none the less!!

Sooo... I had an rear axle given to me from an 2005 Dodge 3500 deisel. Spiders are fuckrd but its all there from end to end....(weldy weldy) Set up for 4 links and coils... (same as my heep!!) Now i can weld it up chuck it in and find a full width front??? I would have to get longer arms made up too. Is this a pipe dream?? Hopefully not. She comes off the road the end of dec. I want to do this on a budget so we will see.

Being a 1 ton diff i would need to go to a bigger t-case i imagine? Which is a good thing i could get rid of the awd bullshit!!

Sorry for the guys who cant read...... no pics

its all doable but you still have a unit body
building it up with full width axles is just going to cost a wack o cash

More pics, and I'm running a Spicer 18 (1958) gear drive t-case with my dana 60/44 combo. Novacs sells adaptors for the dana 300, or the dana 20.
Mines a buhd-jit build as well.
