trail gear makes a mounting kit for the ifs box
it places the box a far forward as you can
without cuting the crap out of front rad suport body mount
think it will let you run rear springs in front moving diff forward 2 inches
used it in my willys
but i pushed the front diff ahead 5 inches
and my box is mounted were the front xmember was

Here is mine on my 82.

The frame is plated on both sides with 1/4" and the bolt holes are sleeved.
I think I was able to use one of the stock holes then drilled one and mounted the upper on top of the frame.

There are plates behind the bolted On ones.

I cut the original fame section out and replaced it with 1/4.
Then put another Plate over that.

thanks for the pics. those are perfect. I was wondering if mounting it on an angle is ok....

i assume your both happy with how they are mounted?

dirkas is straight up and down,

atoyot yours is on an angle.

both steer and drive ok?

atoyots is a trail gear kit or sure looks like it
mounting the box angled like atoyot
gives you more clearance between springs if your truck has a small lift
mounting it level helps cross link angle a bit by lowering the pitman arm
if you have a big gay paint everything red lift like dirka[f]
depending on size tires you want to run
mounting the box farther ahead on frame
so box is right against rad suport mount
allows you to move front diff ahead 2 inches
getting tires away from rockers and firewall allowing a better turn radiusoh yeah

i did both of mine tilted so that the nut on the pitman arm just clears the frame by an 1/8th or so like 4skin is talking about

I did my conversion when X over steering was "new", so over 12 years ago.
Probably before trail gear existed and 37" tires were HUGE !!! :D

My OTT kit is old, but I have had no problems at all.

And I say again, RED MAKES IT GO FASTER !!!!! [36]

( you should see all the YELLOW stuff on my 1970 celica)

dirka la !!!
