hey guys, been doing some research on the web about a cross over steering and trying to find some local info, seem that the cross member will come in contact with the drag link and not work, some are moving the steering box and relocate it to the out side of the frame. have any of you guys ran into a problem like this?
i also may have found an alternative here
anyone running one of these?

Cross steer can be a bit of a bitch cause with 6" lift you have to limit the up travel to about 4" , so the leaf does not hit the pitman arm at full left turn .The cross link has to stay on the bottom of the knuckel or it well hit the leafs . Try to take some pics of my x-cab set up when its ligth out .

if you are willing to replace the steering box you might get better luck then patford has had with his leafspring stuff

I think 2wdr turn the wrong way..they were behind the axle steering iirc, but might work for you, looong sector shaft iirc

pat thanks for the shot man! helps a heep!
does the drag link run under or behind the cross member?
seems it would hit if you flexed out no?

Its just behind the cross member that cross at a angle . Looked at a pitman arm with less drop to increase my up travel and it would tag the cross member then .

my 72 was on a 79 frame already had xsteer
we used to cut the crosmember out and fab a new one
and use a 78 79 box
