Hi there, i have an 88 4runner. What years will work as a suitable replacement.?
Apparently after 89 the part number is different, so im wondering if i need a specific steering box or if i can use one from say a 91 4runner

you need a box from a 86-88 pickup or a 86-89 4runner
the 90-95 4runner, and 89-95 pickup box is 2" bigger so the steering shaft from the firewall to the box is 2" shorter.
To put the 91 box in your truck you would need to use the shorter steering shaft that was with the box aswell. Then it should work

I got a steering box out of a 86' yota pickup, but the big bolt that comes out the bottom that goes into the pitman arm is sheared off, if you can find that piece you can swap it into the steering box? I'm also in Kelowna!

I have a few of them, don't really want to get rid of them but might be able to work out a deal on one of mine and you give me your old one, depending how bad yours leaks
