I added eight 4 inch Stainless Steel 100 watt lights to our KJ.
Four spot lamps and four flood lamps.
I'm also going to add some alley lights, backup lights.
I'm now making a wiring harness for the lot and should have it and the other lighting completed by the weekend.http://i572.photobucket.com/albums/ss165/socks999/LIGHTS1071.jpg
Next will be a higher output 160 ampere alternator from a Liberty Renegade.

Cover the lights up top on when your on the road. RCMP are bad for giving fines for them.
looks good man hope the little alternator can keep up with all those lights

I'm actually going with this alternator instead:
And an Optima yellow top (Already have a Red top under the hood)
Or an Odyssey 34PC 1500T battery.
I think that will do the trick!

Always broke

Now there is somebody who is afraid of the dark ...... As a child were you left in a dark room? They will be able to see you from space , hope it works for you.

hes just old and cant see that good at night, maybe he'll think this might inprove his driving but we all know his wife is a WAY better driver with or without the lights

whats the total amp for all of those?

07-27-2011, 06:48 AM
hes looking at 66.6amps for the top eight. and for the 4 flood and 4 spot asuming they are 65watt bulbs a peice would be 21.6amps. then its probly got an eletric fan pullin minium 10amp and lets say 15amp for other stuff. lets not calculate the 200amp killer buy that winch . thats 113.26 total amp draw with everything on. definatly enough to fry alternators and batteries

Are you driving in caves

07-27-2011, 09:27 AM
jeebus! LEDs should be your friend... would not have the headache of batteries and alternators. checkout Vision X or others like them

What can I say?

I am mentally retarded!

I have had an obsession with light since the age of 3!
When I plugged in a 12 volt light bulb with two wires into
a 120 volt household outlet and ended up on the other
side of the living room.

Since then...

More is better...

Better is best!

Still not as bright as my Mini though!!!

I'll be switching to 4 Hella 4000i in the future!

Think about B's option. The light costs less the altenator and battery upgrades and frees up alot of amps for the winch. And I have installed alot of the new rigids and they cut through the dark like stadium lighting.

Yeah im thinking a whole other dedicated roof bar for rear-pointed lighting. While ur at it make 2 more roof light bars that aim off each side of the truck. Then u could make a cargo cage in between all the light bars (which you could mount a military spotlight on). Then go park on the flats at stave at night and light up the entire lake.

Just to be able to say you can, and that the sun shines wherever you go. Lmao

Ok im def goinf to bed

reminds me of Will Smith's truck from I Am Legend. Bright as ****!

If you want to go LED it is much much much cheaper to build your own. Look up DIY LED drivers or go to the scrap yard and get the new caddy lights
