copy and paste, did not want to type it twice.... :dontknow:

wanna find a weak link in your offroad rig, head up a muddy, rock infested mountain trail.....

we went up last Sunday as well... had a good day, but bad weather and couple breaks... and we limped home tail between our legs..

mountain.... 1

Iclick guys... 0

Top is about 7500 feet, not to bad, but high enough thre is still some snow up there, and its cold... brrrr....

anyhow off we go Sunday morn at 8am... we wanna get to the landing by 10am...

our destination...

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/IMG_3066.jpg

The first part of the trail is not bad, some narly spots, and some good flex is needed, but most above average stockers could do it.. there are some easier lines for the smaller rigs, but every year it is getting more nad more washed out up there...

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/baldy2011050.jpg

one of the more narly spots on the lower half...

DAS TANK...

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/baldy2011053.jpg

onward bound... couple quads tagged along... once at the treeline it gets hairy... this is where winches, lockers, and 35s are needed, I was psuhing it with only a front welded and 33 TSL... but I find my TSL dig better then buddies XJ and his pro craps so onward I go....

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/baldy2011046.jpg

first casuality of the day... overheating XJ.. not good, considering its cold up here and windy... his electric fan is cranking.. hmmm..

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/baldy2011040.jpg

POSER...

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/baldy2011038.jpg

crazy quads...

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/baldy2011031.jpg

Once at the treeline the view is pretty cool....

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/baldy2011017.jpg

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/baldy2011018.jpg

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/baldy2011025.jpg

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/baldy2011028.jpg

Once at the treeline we noticed it was a little wetter then normal, we had maga snow this year, and were surprised we got this far with no snow yet.. so first up was the XJ... locked front rear and 35s....

This is the first bump.. pics dont do it justice from here on in.... its steep, its muddy, it was HARD going, but we wanted to get to the top....

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/baldy2011022.jpg

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/baldy2011019.jpg

XJ done.... winching from here...
must be close on the pics so onward bound.....

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/baldy2011082-1.jpg

its muddy.....

next up was B, and his ...................

Dana 60s 42 IROCS, locked front and rear, SURELY he can do it....

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/baldy2011012.jpg

Oh ****.... winchin to..

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/baldy2011006.jpg

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/baldy2011002.jpg

after B hauled out his winch and dug some nice ruts I parked the YJ, no way its climbing that ****, he went first as he has a rear mounted 12,000lbs winch and figured he would drag me if need be, but it was hard enough getting 2 rigs up there...

the next 600ish yards was winch winch winch winch... OMG wet, the quads had scouted ahead and let us know it dried up..... so we pushed forward, we had considered turning back.. onward bound...

ahh dry ground.

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/IMG_3088.jpg

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/IMG_3072.jpg

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/baldy2011084-1.jpg

NOw it gets hairy... like I said pics dont do it justice, the step... the first rock pic, is about a 4 foot vertical step up, it gets pretty steep in some places...

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/IMG_3127.jpg

we push on, and eventually get to the top....but not without some casualities...

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/IMG_3106.jpg

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/IMG_3114.jpg

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/IMG_3121.jpg

have some lunch, mosquitos are insane but there is a breeze so its not bad, tool around a bit and figure its getting on 3pm now, and a good 3 hours down, lets hit the trail down....

so anyone.. anyone, what are the 2 things ya dont wanna lose coming down a mountain....... anyone.... brakes.. and ...... STEERING...

OH SNAP....

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/IMG_3122.jpg

B big *** 42, and the rocks managed to tear the box away from the frame.... we tried tie straps to limp us down, but those kept breaking, justto much force.. we used his front winch and wraped it around th box and frame, tightedned it down, andthat worked for a bit, but by 4pm it was evident we needed rescue..... the box was coming offthe frame, there is NO room for the XJ to get around, he is stuck here...

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/IMG_3124.jpg

The Xj is here behind him...

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/IMG_3127.jpg

dead on the rocks so to speak....

so at 3:30ish when we spotted the problem, calls went out to the rest of hte iclick guys... HELP.... we had 2 kids with us, so it was getting hairy...

we are limping down, its getting on 7pm now, and we are still a good 2 clicks fromt hte tree line and another 7km to the trail head from there and a good 45 minute ride to civilization.... WTF...

by 4:00 calls were coming back and ppl on the way out with welding rods.... GREAT, but we got no welder... the rescue guys are still a good 2 hours away.. so we kept limping down to minimize their trip up, it was gonna be bad enough for them...
by about 7:30, the first rescue crew shows up.. weldingrods in hand...

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/IMG_3139.jpg

great now what... well for you newbie guys, here is how to make a short term tempory get me home welder....

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/IMG_3140.jpg

batteries put out alot of current, we had to stop a couple times to charge them up, but hells ya....

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/IMG_3141.jpg

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/IMG_3139.jpg

its getting dark now, and in northern BC, getting dark is 11pm.... so we are welding by flashlight and tryign t olimpo down a mountain on a ttrail barely wide enough for the trucks.... WOOT.... by 11:30 we are hitting hte treeline, the second crew arrived, but heard us coming so waited at the landing and got a fire going....

its midnight.. party Iclick style... rescue almost done....

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/IMG_3147.jpg

Im giving PORPS to the rescue guys, all wheeling groups need guys like this, drop everything to come save somestranded wheelers in the middle of NOWHERE...

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/IMG_3149.jpg

Wrench and the black rubi, damn blakc jeeps, took us 15 minutes to find it...

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/IMG_3150.jpg

and Jeff in his rubi..

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/IMG_3156.jpg

these guys save our asses tonight...

after a couple beers and a quick chekc on the welds and a quick fix as they were starting ot get bad again, by the time jeff got there to weld, the box was almost completely torn away...

its 1:30ish.. we head down the rest of the trail..

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Baldy2011/IMG_3179.jpg
