07-17-2011, 06:45 PM
ive tried diferent gaskets on difs best thing ive found is right stuff
yes thats what its called and you think scraping rtv sucks
but it will never leak or weep even with bending stock cover to the bolts just sayin

I was told not to use a lubelocker with my aftermarket diff covers, don't ask me why, think maybe something to do with smacking a rock and compressing and damaging the gasket causing a leak?

Hmmm. Bruce I have heard that "Right Stuff" as well is the shit ! Most likely will go with that as I leave on thurs for Apex. No time to order Lubelocker

Now where's the cheapest place for that right stuff and gear oil !?

07-18-2011, 11:43 AM
Gear oil hit can tire ...4 lts 90/140 extreeme pressure i think 20 bucks or less ..( it may be 85/135 LOL ) if you have a locker go with that

07-18-2011, 11:44 AM
remember the 8.8 takes 5.3 pints with a locker a lil less

Thanks Tim. No locker but will
Add Ford LSD additive. I use 75-90

07-18-2011, 11:50 AM
then get the lower pressue one I think 85 / 90 ..go with the bigger weight mate

K. Cool

I use the right stuff too, never had a problem with leaks even with a snapped bolt.

And it's easy to use with a chaulking gun

All done. Just used RTV as I had two brand new tubes. Let stand for 15 then attached easily. Let sit for 2 1/2 hours and filled. Looks killer! Will post a pic

never use the additive in the 8.8 in my rangerit makes the clutches slip easier
it is still good after 2 years of my drivin it like i stole it
always turned both tires and had at least 10 sets of tires burnt off it
smoke em if you got em lol
