WELLLLLLL......

My Front seal was leaking already, so I figured it would get full when I went in, I ws not to concerned as this was coming anyhow, I am welding the front 30 tomorrow.... with the posi lok it should work well for a selectable locker sorta....

the rear ??? my guess is the vent hose, its comes up just above hte gas filler behind the rear corner, so Im an gonna lengthen it up to inside the tub, to about the roll bar height to be safe....

the trans I have yet to change but judging by how is shifting its full to, this was prolly from when I said 'HOLY FUCK THIS IS GETTING DEEP', and dumped the clutch looking for reverse, then it stalled as it lost backpressure.....

oh well, if your gonan play I guess ya gotta pay.... food

Caveat: "Remember there's no bad ideas"

Call me stupid.... but for those of us that have onboard air could we not pressurize the diffy to say 2 or 3 lbs (even 1 lb for a positive pressure) for the times that we are in water.

Yes the vent allows for expansion and contraction of the diff's and heat but if we only pressurize during swimming (which is when it cools down quickly) it would create positive pressure against the water coming in.

Yes I haven't experimented as of yet, and no I'm unaware of the peak pressure that would destroy the seals....... Just thinking outloud here....

Oh he been after me for a couple years to weld it, he wanted to do the rear as well, so prolly good thing his shoulder was sore after he finished the front....

dont know why youre afraid of doing the rear
driving in snow with a welded rear is no problem
and now you are puting 2 times the load on the front end
and if one rear tire spins all the load
folowed by a bang it is a jeep front end after all

how much snow do u get in abbotsford.....

I have had welded rears in winter before, no thanks, we get snow/ice covered roads here foir no less then 6 months.... solid ice pack on the roads,

gonna pass for now.... I find most ppl who say its no problem driving in snow with lockers dont do it very often at all couple snowy days a year dont count.... or ever.....

not so much fun with 2 kids in the rig altho they like it.... If I were 20 I prolly wouldn mind either..... now its just more headaches I dont have to deal with..... maybe next year.... I got another car now and I will drive that some in winter, but I still like taking hte jeep, we get s dumps of snow here in feet at a time so it makes for some fun days...

i lived in prince goerge never had a problem with driving with a spool id rather have a spool than a locker at least i know what its going to do
guess you dont need 4x4 to drive in the snow cause it isnt going to steer
with the front welded
just sayin

The way it is set up in the front with the posi lok, it wont lock till I pull the cable.... I can run in 4x4 and basically Im 3 wheel drive till I pull my posi then its locked, till the collar slides over the pass side is just free wheeling..... not much different then it is now......

I am thinking of an OX style locker, but the 35 is NOT staying there anyhow, Im trying to get the 8.8 ready but the jeep is keeping me busy with other shit.....
