i remember doing this on the street in front of my house last year, some of my neighbors thought i was crazy when i told them what i was doin but sure enough it worked perfectly. getting them back together is alot harder than seperating them on the stock ones (longfields are easy) tryin to get that tiny greasy stubborn clip to compress was a pita.

Ive had good luck putting them back together buy using a small hose clamp to compress the c clip then i put the shaft in and give it a good smack with a brass hammer if you do it right they just pop together

I tried that on my landcruiser didnt work out for me but it has worked on every little toyota axle I've done. I used the old 8lb brass drift fir the land cruiser

unless its an 80 series all the birfs are the same size

I thought that WAS the way to remove the birf.

Who runs stock birfs anyways? :D
