View Full Version : Cross over steering

Well I'm finally making progress on the pumpkin rebuild, but have run into a small problem. I don't have quite as tight a turning radius any more after converting to crossover steering. I can go a bit longer pitman arm, but I don't know if that'll be enough. Are the steering stops in the box easy to modify for both directions of steering? And what are my options for a longer pitman arm? It needs to bee about a two inch drop.
shorten the steering arm is easier
whats pitman length now?
a ford superduty arm is 6 5/8" and real beefy

I have drop pitman arms if you interested. They are 4" drop or I can ream the arm from the top side to give you less drop if needed.

I'm not sure that the pitman arm will do all that I want. I think I will have to modify the box for more travel, and shortening the steering arm isn't an option,
