View Full Version : Checked out Hayman lake

05-08-2011, 07:44 PM
went out an screwed around for a while... nobody wanted to come but i just said hell with it i'll go anyways. didnt go as far as i would've liked, i wanted to do the full loop but without another truck if i got stuck then id be kind of screwed. broke some trail, took a few pics (not that good cuz i was driving too).

started off pretty dry, those ditches are fun with the new suspension [36]

then i hit snow... :confused0006:

soo i blasted through it!!

letting the engine cool down...

theres hayman lake through the trees. I wanted to get to the shore but i just couldnt chance it since i had nobody to pull me back up a small hill if i got stuck in the last part of the trail where the snow was deepest.

maybe someone will want to come next weekend and we can open up the last bit...[cheers]

The trailhead is off Bear Main FSR off westside road.
There are 2 ways to get in/out with a small 4x4 truck or quad.

i went in from the bottom of mcdougall creek fsr. after i got off the pavement i was on the trail within 10 mins. i saw tonnes of quads/dirtbikes out there. its a good little trail but prlly not so friendly to big trucks. i just squeaked by a few detours for fallen trees/under trees

Suggestion! As you don't have a winch!!, go buy a 3000lb comealong, a 6ft
Lifting Strap. and a long Length of rope, and you can pull yourself out, with a little ELBOW GREASE!!!. Thats what I'VE used for the last 20 odd years.

Haha, good ol Hayman Lake! I love that it's called a lake, but is only 10 feet deep. I felt like a tool trolling around in the boat there 10 or so years ago!
