My tube could float faster then that. Be cheaper to tow there too.

the fuel pump is not priming. I'm reading up on some causes and I have a few things to check. I might have burnt out my fuel pump but I have to go over a few things firs to check

what I didn't do when I changed my fuel/water seperater was fill the filter with gas. That might be enough to burn out my pump....I'm hoping not.

even if it were dry it wouldnt burn the pump just from that unless there is some other issue.(constriction?) it takes a bit of time to fry it .

no differnt then running out of fuel.

Is yours a screw on filter seperator

no it's a paper looking filter that goes inside of a cup. The boat did run for about 5 min before it died.

When the throttle was played with(moving it backwards and forwards) thinking that it might be something to do with a neutral switch the pump would prime but that only worked a few times then no mater what we did the pump wouldn't prime again.

kink, blockage ? is the tank vented? is the vent plugged? Its probably something simple that caused the issue.

ps: did you check the oil?:confused0006:

yeah for sure Dave.....but I'm going to try and figure this out myself. I want to know as much as I can on this motor so I have a chance to fix it when it counts out on the water.

I think you have that backwards.....I seem to be in a habit of towing you

I was waiting for you to post that dummy!!!! Take a good long hard look whats on the back of my boat. Can you see it its a kicker all hooked up and ready to go I could have easily have put it into the water and got back in the last 300 yards under my own steam but it was far more fun to get you to waste your gas by pulling me in [f]

Note to self though next time listen to the wife when she tells me "We don't have enough gas to last all day you had better fill it up before we launch"

I hear that if you find something adrift you can claim salvage rights. I was going till I found out you were on board….then all I wanted to do was give it back to the sea

Moondog
05-02-2011, 04:29 PM
your maintaining your own boat right? :confused0006: Salvage rights looks like I might have another boat in the near future I will keep Ann but I will tie an anchor to you just to make sure you stay down
