Got roasted for no front fender flares (no point in fighting it my tires stuck out a good 8-10 inches:dontknow: )

so i decided to make a semi-ghetto solution untill i get new fenders/body armor,

picked up 15ft of 1x1x.100 wall square tubing some 1/16th sheet and 2ft of 1/8th flat bar and heres what i ended up with

had a couple spider web gussets sitting around from another project so i figured what the hell i could use some welding practice

now all thats left is to cut the sheet and skin the fenders
before anyone says anything, that wood furnace doesnt get used asshole2

79 Restomod.

Motor's a done to the nuts 1500 too much to list :party0010:

Im currently stripping it down gonna have it acid dipped n phosphated to kill all the rust and remove all the paint n such

then its body work time gonna fix all the rust and ditch the 80's style california bumper's in favour of the bumperless 60's style bodywork, slow going though most screws/bolts have a good 30+ years of rust and sitting holding them in

oh i know man, the rear quarters are pretty bad, and i expect the drivers floor to dissapear, along with the battery tray and a few other spots, im kinda undecided wether to have it media blasted or acid dipped, either way i know theres alot covered in paint im not seeing

media blast it dont get it dipped
it thins the good metal
and there is no way to get paint back in the pinchwelds
ive been doing restorations over 30 years
and have isues with the acid weeping out of seams and ruining a fresh paint job

you can get a a plasti bead, or use bakimg soda, for a less damaging blast. there is other blasting materials, but i think these are the most common.

forget the company name think it was safety blast
its a plastic or walnut shell blast
they had a chevy 11 they blasted together
didnt damage glass crome or wireing
yes they blasted the engine and compartment
when i say together it was a running driveable car
