I have a 91 XJ that keeps stalling when either coming to a stop at a traffic light or stop sign. It doesn't happen every single time maybe about 4 times out of 10. We have checked for vacuume leaks  What else should I be checking

If I gear down before I slow down/stop it doesn't seem to happen as much as just coming to a stop

check fuel filter and psi could be fuel pump or pressure reg,or just a Jeep thing....

check egr sticking open, follow the little vacuum tube to the drivers fender well to a little valve, it has a little brass thingee on the bottom, its a filter that can become plugged and will holf the egr open when warm. Also a o2 sensor on the fritz can cause this, as well as a crank position sensor . A few things to check out anyways. I'd be checking the egr first. I deleted the egr and pipe from my 89.

Ruth, have someone put it on a scanner and check the vehicle speed sensor I will guarantee you it is not working

Is it dying or just sputtering? Jj had a similar problem, turned out not enough fuel pressure, replaced the pump and it went away

Yours sounds like a fuel problem
