She is only 10 months so she will get much larger. We are guessing around 16hh. Her dam is tall and her sire is a good size also. I know a couple other horses out of the grand dam on the sires side and they are all great horses and pretty good sized.

She is regestered paint. Her colouring is Sorrel overo which is a carrier of the sabino gene. A paint can be a solid colour as well and still be registered. It is possible for 2 paint horses sire and dam and produce a solid colored baby.

Her owner plans on doing APHA shows with her. At the end of the summer she might leave our place and go to a show barn to start training for halter classes. She will also be used for trail riding once she is oldenough to have a rider on her back. I think her owner also wants to do some cow work with her as well once she is older.

yep! our property backs onto crownland so I can ride for ever around here!! its great!! I have a standardbred comming in the middle of the month. Finnaly my own riding horse!!! I plan on ponying the filly aroudn to get her out and used to noises and animals and everything else. She also may be used as a pack horse for a bit. We have shot a gun off just outside of our property before andit didnt scare her so we will probably start conditioning her to all the loud noises

Paint horses - under this strict classification system - must not only
adhere to strident color pattern regulations but must have at least one
parent that is a registered Paint horse in order to be identified as
part of the breed.

The color patterns specific to paint horses include any combination of
the color white and another color standard to horses such as brown,
gray or black. Their distinctive coloring often looks like splashings
of paint - or markings - over the horse's body but actually fall into
three color classifications that a horse must have in order to be
considered a Paint horse.

The three color patterns are: tobiano, which generally features four
white legs, round or oval spots across the chest and neck area, and a
two-toned tail; the overo pattern wherein the prominent color is either
white or dark, four dark legs, white head coloring, and single colored
tail; and a combination of tobiano and overo that is referred to as
tovero and used to describe those Paint horses that have common
qualities of both.

So no a solid coloured "Paint" is not actually a paint. They can be registered as "part " of the breed but not as a paint. Just saying.[cheers]

They are registered APHA (its on the apha website) they can show at paint shows they just have to show in specific classes (solid classes) NOT with paints. Paint isnt a colour Paint is a breed. Pinto is the colour. A solid paint can still produce pinto colouring.
