Was out on the weekend playing in the snow. was running 4lo for almost a few hours, shifted for two for a few km then went to go back to 4hi. And it was like it was locked. I rocked the jeep a bit and it went in and it was fine again. This morning I got stuck in my parking spot, went to 4, then it was like stuck in 4lo. same thing, went forward then reverse then forward and it went right in. Any ideas? stretched chain start causing problems like this?

its a 89 jl limited, swapped in a 231 with tera 2lo. got rid of the evil 242.

they put same transfer case in the 94-01 ram 1500's it has a cclip that hold the slip shaft in place that eventually pops off lets the shaft go inside and busts the plastic shift forks, they make a bolt on color to fix that issue might be worth lookin into if your rebuilding it anyways.

Anyone tell me if the front and rear output shaft bearings are the same on the jeep 231? think 87-94. Lordco doesnt list the rear, but I know forsure I replaced it a longtime ago
