I was hoping to get some input on lift hieghts for 2nd gen 4runners. I have limited space to get my truck in my garage and want to see what hieght you are sitting at. Let me know what kit(all pro, TG, or other) and what leafs (4", 5" or 5"hd) you used and what size tires you are running. If you can please give me a measurement of your roof line front and back.

Trail gear recomends the 5"hd kit for 2nd gens but I may have to settle for a 4" kit to clear the garage. Will the 4" still fit my 35"s?

I know, I know lot's of questions but any help and input would be great.

Go with the 5"HD Just let the air outta ur tires! Be the Redneck thing to do. 2 sets of tires maybe? You don't go wheelin that often[f]

mines got 2 inck springs in front but my mount and shakle location
made it 5 inches over stock
the trail gear kit adds 1 inch to spring lift so a 5 winds up 6inch

measure it to whats left of the roof with your 38's on. I would love to see if I coud stuff 37's on it and still get in the garage.

Thanks Bruce[cheers]

its 79 inches at the rear of the top
about the same at the front so say 6ft 8 inches to be safe
tires are still at 6 lbs and there 38.5s

I want to see what the minimum lift I can do with 35-37s and still fit it in. Trimming is not so much of an issue, I have trimmed a bunch in the rear to get the 35's clearanced.

I had 35x12.50x15 on a 91 4runner with no lift. Just lots of swings with the 10 lb sledge. It can be done

i beleive tg recomends 5 inch so ur diff dont hit ur oil pan

Yes they do but I could always deal with that issue after. Its easier to massage the oil pan than it is to redo the garage:dontknow:

Link it and run air bags !

You can slam it in the summer and cruse around White Rock.

That doesnt help when it comes time to work on it? and no I dont want to have a set of cookie cutters to put on it.

Also living in the city not in the country I don't want to leave it parked out front on the road.

thats what im wondering,my brother has a 76f250,12inch lift on 38s and it fit in my parent garage ...barley,most garage doors are adjustable ,just take it to its limits and a toyota should fit no problem[cheers]

that 5"hd is only if you're packing a winch and v6. if not...then its a rough ride. buddy did a 3" lift and used toyota fiberglass's high clearance fenders and ran 38.5s
