I`ve got a 1993 Mazda B2600i and Im about to purchase a 19ft 5th wheel single axle with brakes. It has a 300kg tonque weight. Is this legally exceptable in B.C.??? I realize I wont be going anywhere fast... I just want to know if the truck can handle the weight.

we did have just a few pounds under a ton of metal in the back and the truck barley squatted at all! maybe a inch or so tires looked great to ! lol but that is to big for such a little truck for sure

The truck is rated as a half ton... so 1000lbs. I'd only be putting 600lbs back there plus whatever I put into the unit.

Maybe you have NEVER noticed those WHITE CARS?SUVs that run up and down B.C. roads? with pretty colored signs & painting on the sides? they seem very friendly when they STOP you, and ask you very NICELY for your
Drivers licence, and Vehicle Insurance, and ask you to step out of your vehicle. If they think something "Dosn't" look right, they can call someone to come and inspect it, they can call a Tow Truck to haul it to an Impound lot were you will pay the tow fees, storage fees, inspection fees etc etc.
My suggestion is, get it checked out by someone who knows what they are talking about, make sure you have the right Insurance for both units, before you move it. I used to own a 1988 MAZDA B2200. I know they can haul Tons of stuff, I got stopped hauling a LOAD of fresh cut firewood in the EAST KOOTENAYS a few years ago! I know I was well over loaded, I had just turned of the Hiway onto the road to my house, when I heard a quick beep of a Siren, There was One of those cars turning the corner, so I stopped got out of the P/U, I was fortunate that it was a niehbour from acouple of blocks away, who explained the error of my ways, and suggested that I heed his warning, because some of his friends might not be so polite. grab one with a tow package depending on what you buy (how old) adding in oil and tranny coolers and 7 pin rv wirrring could be more then the truck you bought.

Your 5th wheel should have electric brakes make sure they work.

The 5th brakes work great, already been tested. Already bought a brake controler, hitch and a trans cooler so I think I'm set [cheers]
