In the 4runner i have a 22r motor with a weber downdraft . the truck once had the 22re in it but it got taken out, then a 350 tuneport in and now back to a 22r .

all the wires are still there for the EFI ,( mind you some were cut into for the 350)

I can't remember if i have to change my head on the 22r if i want to put the 22re top end fuel injection back in. my mind is drawing a blank(pretty normal).

Fairly sure you need an EFI head.

I think the 22r head from 84 and 85 can be used with EFI or Carb, but im not positive

look on your 22r head, intake side. if your head is 83 or newer, it will have a couple mounting holes not used by a 22r intake. if those holes are present, you can bolt a 22re intake onto that head. earlier heads did not have those extra holes in the head.

the camshafts are different between a 22r and 22re, so you should change that as well.

350's are way over rated in Toyotas, if your not going to put a built 350 in a toyota you might as well just keep the 4cyl with some gearing and go enjoy wheelin on weekends for cheap.

i agree or even a nice built v6 is plenty for toyota's.
