if i put a stk toy tire carrier on my 4runner that didn't come with one stk. will i have to do any custom fabing to make it work? wil it put to much stress on the body panels? will i have to put steel in behind the panel to support the wieght? any body do this?

Along with doing that, you will also have to change your tailgate to accept the carrier.

If you put an aftermarket rear bumper on, you could make a swing away off that.

yeah i think i can mod my tailgate to make the tire carrier work, i took a look at it a while ago and i'm pretty sure that i could make it work. i'm going to have to move my reverse lights, wich i will mount on the tire carrier and licence plate easy enough I thinks.......

that would be awsome, easier enough for me if you could drop it off at a lordco and ask them to ship it to store 73 attn: clerk 2450? if to much of a hassle let me know and i'll see if i can work something out

On pathfinders, the ones that came with a tire carrier had reinforcements in the quarter panel that those that didn't come with one don't have. I wanted to do the same thing on my truck but was advised against it because the weight of the tire would mess up the sheet metal.

It looks like everything is wrapped up in a neat little package then. I guess you don't need my pathfinder one anymore.
