We left the jeep at home and loaded up the truck and camper. We thought that the furnace would be a nice touch in the cold.
Headed out to Harrison west and turned north. We ran into an indian guy walking in at about 10k. He was all alone and headed for the rez at the far end of the lake. (90k in ) We picked him up and drove him to 20 mile bay. He headed on in the cold with only a thin blanket and a poor winter jacket. I checked to see he had food and said goodbye. I worried all nigh about him in the cold. The next day we watched for him but did not find him. God willing he got another ride and was warm at home. And we think we are going on a wild run!!
Harrison west was fairly good with the exception of two spots. 65k was the worst, and 28k had snow as well. 65 k was about 14inches of snow turned to ice, deep ruts and extremely slippery. My truck had to break ice the whole way. We lost our fog and driving lights in the front and the reverse lights. Several places had washed out but not to bad. It is a hell of a run for a full size low truck and camper. The old 100 ton camper gave us the weight to plow through. It will be the last run of the winter in this rig. the jeep loves this road.

20 mile bay was clear and cold. A big fire helped but the furnace did not. 3 deg was as warm as the camper got.
Had a visitor drive in after dark and we shared the fire. good to meet you Pegleg!!
The trip over the pass was awesome!! Not the place for the truck and camper but it held up fine.
Tried for sloquet hot springs but was stopped at 6k in. We drove the west road to driftwood bay to spend new years eve. It was clear, cold and incredible!! the perfect way to ring in the new year. This night the camper made it to -3.( pop inside froze.)
Next day was up the hurly to the Meager creek turn off for a walk, and then a fast run home.

Happy new years to all!!
