I'd like to get some sort of a hydraulic assist setup on my 89 xj. Any of you guys been down that road? What do you recommend? It be going on the d30 , I have the iron rock offroad steering kit with 5/8 upgrade so strength should be there. I've heard of guys piecing together their own kits, not sure thats is a good idea, may make for headaches later?

Its over the knuckle so I'm thinking it should be oky?

Just buying a kit would probably be the easiest to do. This kit is for a toyota but its easy to adapte it to any axle. Will just have to make one braket on the diff to mount the ram if you couldn't make the toyota mount work. I have this kit in my truck and have had no problems with it. And for the price you can't go wrong.

No problem, seems like the best bang for the buck when i was looking and I have had no problems with it in my truck with a welded front and aired down 38.5 TSL SX I could palm the wheel on pavement no problem. I have the stock pump tho which makes the steering abit slower buts i have not had any problems with it. Steers abit slower but its powerful now!
