whats the specs on it, everything from the 4runner into an f-toy?

youngun
12-03-2010, 11:02 AM
yeah, pretty much the same as my 4runner for now, going to change it up abit. Its similar to an ftoy minus not having such a boxy/ugly look imo

you going to upgrade the axles?
yotas don't like 44s and abuse all that well
otherwise lookin pretty sweet. :)

Got the fuel cell mount done, been busy working on my daily driver and snowboarding.

I have seen people running 44's on toyota axles in the mud without problems with 350's and stock toyota diffs, mine are all upgraded and the truck has no weight to it so I think they will hold up. They are for snow only, i have 38.5 TSL SX beadlocked for rocks

hmm looks cool but you might have problems with the rear ring and pinion. being angled that much there could be issues with oil not getting to spots its supposed to... like the pinion bearing... that rear leaf pack looks like something out of a 1 ton. with 7 or 8 leafs, such an aggressive arc, and such little weight on the back half i cant see that thing flexing much more than a roller skate.. other than that it looks cool!

youngun
12-17-2010, 12:17 AM
The pinion is turned up alot, but i wheeled it like that with the 4runner body on it for over 2 years, without any problems with either of the axles. But i do over fill them abit to compinsate for turned up pinion.

The springs do look really beefy but they are actually really soft, flexed really good with the 4runner body on it, I have not removed 2 leafs since I lost some sheet metal and weight, should work good now i hope. If anyone is wondering, the rear springs are 4" TG's

Alright, so I figure I have not been working on this much, but someone might be interested so I will update this.

Finished up the stand alone wiring harness and got the truck running!!!

Yesterday I mounted the fuel cell, ran rear brakeline, fuel delivery and return lines, as well as mounted fuel pump. Going to do some more on it today, will update later if I get something done on it

I also picked up a e locker for the rear, I have not pulled it outta the truck yet tho. This is going to be my summer trail rig. I have a dedicated snow truck in the works, as well as a full on tube chassis rock crawler and a mud truck
