wasHi!
well.. to start I finally gave in and sold my XJ because I knew I wanted another toyota..
I found this green 85 4runner that needed a VI on craigslist, and bought it.

Daryl (mudball) was going to cut and weld in new panels, but then came across a buddy with a wonderful shell in his garage..

We now have a much, much better home for the 22RE and straight axle from the green runner...

The blue one has high steer, and has been 3 linked (jordan just taught me exactly what 3 link was. thanks man!) also it's been bobbed, and as you can tell.. it's got a lovely exo.

The engine bay was being made ready for a vortec so it's had the wiring removed, and different motor mounts welded on.. If I knew how to remove them - those mounts would be already gone.

A peek up it's rear ;)

Bobbed

It's gonna be a lot of work, and a lot of beer for the guys.. but I don't mind supplying it.
I just can't wait til re-assembly part!
I know how to do all that crap! I just don't want to lose/misplace anything during the removal and replacement of current motor.. but once it's in .. I can re attach all the goodies!

i sold an 87 single cab pickup on 35's with a sweet aluminum box & a roll bar.. and bought the jeep. a week after buying the xj - it was stolen. I was stoked & planned to buy another yota.. until the found the jeep and somehow it ran better after being stolen. Oh well. Have 2 yotas now :)

Good job on switching back to the dark side. Nice score on the runner, it has a sweet 8274 winch on it too.

Daryl said he has to put two transfer cases in it.. So we have to find a transmission adapter? and from what I've been told they're not cheap... great.
Anyone know where we can get one?

check bc4x4 toyota for sale section. doublers or prebuilt come up for $300 or less. you'll also need an extension for your speedo cable, $20. and drive shafts front and rear shouldnt cost you more then $500 max.

Spend the money and get a good shaft.

When you bust your rear, like I have done countless times, its nice to be able to get home on your front without any worries.

how is that not a good shaft? i've ran a trail gear, agricultural and marlin crawler. agricultural worked the best and was cheaper then the others. does your truck even move from where its parked dirka?

doing secret stuff to it....

kamloopsyota
11-22-2010, 12:19 PM
ok, and why do you not think an agi shaft would work?

dirka dave
11-22-2010, 12:41 PM
For one an agricultral shaft is not DOT legal...

They are not ment for high speed use either.

If its for a rockcrawler then sure, if its for street then I wouldn't.

The same goes for square tube shafts.

good point about DOT, but as for the speed....mine was fine at 70k, and if I'm locked then there really isn't any reason to be doing 70k.

Crap missed that page..........Bummer dude
eventually you will have time again for them
you just might have to wait 10 years or so....

Good Luck with the new addition when it arrives

I had to get rid of my 65 Mustang when my second daughter was born:( then a couple years later came the third daughter.....now that they are all in their teens I get to do shit again[36][cheers]

Good Luck[cheers]

Haha I'm a girl, but thanks :)
I still want to build them, but we have a toy sami, a motorhome, dodge diesel, 5.0l mustang and my car...
Mudball doesn't have the time to assemble the two into one anymore.. His mustang has been sitting clutchless since august.. and today FINALLy got permitted. His Chev is going up for sale too.. He just put the d60s under it and everything.. but he says hed rather have the sami, and just buy a newer runner, or an older one that doesnt need assembly.
Oh well.. Would be hard to get a carseat in a full caged 2door lifted truck anyway lol.
