I looked at a Nissan on the weekend, and I might join the Nissan thread next weekend.

Its an 86 the late model with the 90s style, new clutch, small suspension lift, 3" body lift and turning 33's. Its got the 4 cyl motor 5 speed manual, manual hubs.

What should I look out for on this little beast? Its clean no rust.

Whats a decent price for one of these?

him only wants 800, cant find a toyota for that!

I had an 85 toyota, it didnt impress me, other then the light weight was fun, my timing chain was eating through the block, frame rusted through, bottom of the box rusted completely off. Im not seeing why thats so much better?:confused0006:

the 86 had the nap z motor.. garbage.

look and see if it has 8 spark plugs, if it does.. run, and run away fast.

I'm really not joking,

yeah its got 8 spark plugs, they have bad heads just like the rest of the 80's engines?

im not a huge fan of 4 bangers, was hoping to use it this winter, then when it dies put in a 5l and ford axles.

the nap z engines did not have head issues, they had ignition issues.

I am a datsun /nissan guy and wouldn't have one.

find one with a 3.0 in it.. change the timeing belt every 100K and run it for ever

Is it hard to swap engines to a 3.0?

Problem is around here we have a lot of rust issues, this one is in by far the best shape of any ive seen around here body wise, and for 800 bones almost 1/3 the price of the others.

heres his list of new parts "new ball joints on one side. has a new clutch assembly ( pressure plate, friction disk, bearings) new power steering pump, starter. alternator and tie rod ends" This ones a reg cab longbox and comes with a reg cab shortbox for parts.

The steering is, without a doubt, the weakest part of a stock Pathfinder... followed by the rest of the IFS set up. I went through far too many tre's and torsion bars/anchors - hence the SAS I'm doing.
