I would double check my neighbors friend had a pair of Porsches that where write offs very little damage but because of the new shit ICBC has had to do because of employees selling the written off cars to there friends to make money he could only take parts off them not fix them and sell them complete and he was an auto wrecker.

i took mine to the local big o cost me $96 plus $60 for them to check the alignment. it was well worth calling arround. some shops want some things and others want something different. once you pick a shop talk to the tech that will be doing the inspection, and get an idea of what they are looking for. ICBC has 2 types of "write-offs" salvage and dismantle only, you will want to make shure it does not have dismantle status, should be able to find out by taking the vin to icbc. i had pictures of the damage, and proved it was a light deer hit, and didnt require a structural integrity test. otherwise, i was told it would be upwards of $400 for that.

you could always just swap the vin tags too off another similar truck.. but with newer trucks its more work. old trucks its easy as shit

this is all depending on the purpose of the truck. a daily driver i wouldnt do it

a wheeling truck that goes on a trailer and seldomly gets driven on the road i dont think its a big deal

anytime anybody swaps a door on their truck i guess they are tampering with vins too eh??

didnt think of that one smart guy!:D

i would never switch vins. last thing i need is to kill somebody in an accident and not have ANY coverage.
