Did an impromptu run up the whipsaw last weekend.
We drove up to Dicks cabin on Sat. night. It was cold and the wind was howling.
We decided that the cabin was going to be way warmer than the tent so we moved in.
Set up the air mattress lite the the fire and relaxed. We were almost to warm.
I went out to cut more wood and found the snow falling. ( had a good laugh at the thought of all the campers at wells )
Morning saw about 3 or 4 inches of new snow
Tried to see how far I would make it in 2x4--( Almost to the top of falcon hill until I hit a rock and heard a bang.)
Ran into a traffic jam just after Wells. Met up with a great group of wheelers and joined in. the zuke was dragging a stuffed bunnie all the way. Almost cried at the antics as it went in the mud and rocks!!!
We did not look until Loadstone lake and then found out the shimmy in the front end.
The front shackle had ripped off the frame and was flipped over.
Drove to granite city jacked her and set it in place. Drove home to POCO and welded it back. No problems

It was fixed about 30 min after I talked with you.
Better than before. It looked like who ever welded it in the first place used bubble gum.

There are a few of the old cabins still almost standing.
The place has been dug to death looking for that lost bag of platinum.
Still good for a look around.
The graveyard up the hill is great to explore, lot,s of history.

In the early 70s a rummer started that a miner buried a bag of platnum under his shack and died. Soon after the town site started to look like a mine field.
