Built a bumper for my buddy!
Pics attached! Details are:

- Sandwich plates that mount to frame are 1/4"
- Bolts are qty of 8 of 3/8" grade 8. Mounted to stock location
- Lights are stock jeep JK fog lamps
- Bumper is 3/16 mild steel
- D rings are 3/4" thick, 1" hole
- There is a hole cutout for the winch at the top but it is not fully cut through (ill post more photos later)
- Winch cable (fairlead) hole will be added later when he gets a winch

all parts are cnc cut

nicely built

the damn license plate always ruins a nice bumper or the look of it. because you always have to find a spot where it can be mounted so it can be seen.

Looks nice.

Why are "D" rings such a FAD ?

Do people really like hearing their shackles bang around ?:dontknow:

just my 2 cents.

DanB
10-01-2010, 02:00 PM
dirka dave..

im deaf so the banging noise doesnt bother me [22]

on serious side.. lots of people put some thick rubber and sandwich it between d ring/shackle and the shackle will barely move to keep the noise down..

its nice to use those point for recovery

vajayjay

Why leave them on they're there for recovery, I've lost two shackles from leaving them on, vibrated off

DanB
10-01-2010, 02:08 PM
vajayjay

good idea taking them off.. and are u sure it was vibration? or some thief bastard took them?

new fad my ass, I've had em for years, too bad yours are so short. better too use them as frame mounts so you have a straight pull.

DanB
10-01-2010, 06:23 PM
i can make them longer if needed

i dont think i want a 3/4 bracket on my frame.. but thats me..

it might be a new fad to dirka dirka since maybe hes simlar taste to reeseman who likes ibeam bumper.. or railroad track bumper :D
