I bought a 99' dakota, Few issues right now, Oil dissapears. not on the ground, and not burning from what I can see, There is a bit of a ping in 3rd depending on how much im on the gas. Fuel pump on its way out, Which im pickin up today and putting in, Check engine light came on, Bought a code reader and im gettin P1294, Which by the book says something about cylinder 12 injector low or something, Kinda just venting/ wondering what that code means

yup, it's the infamous intake plenum pan gasket. After you replace it, do a combustion chamber cleaning (seafoam or whatever) and it will get rid of the ping, caused by carbon build up in the combustion chamber

Ok sweet, I finished that around 4 pm, Cleaned as much of the oil up as I could, Drove for a bit to burn the rest out, Spray intake cleaner in like a mofo. Ping in 3rd hard on acceleration is gone and just a tad there in 5th. Ill spray a bunch more through it and see what happens, I put in new spark plugs, And have a fuel addictive running through it as well. Its alot better and I put in full synthetic oil. Its a real fun little truck though, I guess I missed a vacuum line because im idling at 900 rpm and check engine light came back on and I can here the hissing, Ill find it tomorrow in the light.

Welll shit, I cant find that vacuum leak, It sounds like its coming from inbetween the intake and heads, I thought it was intake manifold gaskets, So I pulled the old ones today, Swapped in new ones, More silicone, Torqued and put in all new bolts. Bitch still leaking.. Anyone got ideas?

Start truck, get can of wd 40 with the straw, spray slowly around untill the engine revs up, thats where its leaking.

I did that, I tried to pull the wiring up and out of the way, Cant find it, I used intake cleaner as well. which will make rpms drop. Anything that I can use that will make it bubble in the area or change color?? lol. Maybe a crack in intake?
