As you know my top steering box bolt pulled through the uni-body rail which caused bottom two bolts to snap leaving me hooped in a creek.

So here is my fix,
Gonna weld the outer plate to frame on both sides and a center joiner plate to act as a stiffener and box brace

Inner plate on left
131566

Inner plate
131567

131568

131569

Should work
131570

Picked up some new 1/2 longer bolts today to make up for the extra steel

Those plates will make for an excellent bumper mount/recovery point mount as well -- here's my bumper tie in for the driver's side:

I tied in the sway bar mounts with some angle too for a couple extra bolts... [36]

When I built my bumper I made another plate that goes over the steering box plate, so there is no strain on the box bolts and only on bumper mount bolts

When in doubt apply 1/4 inch plate. It maybe heavy but you don't see it laying on the road broken.

The top bolt cracked "frame" which caused stress on the others which actually broke then pulled through
