becasue they are a spring under spring on top of the axle they are not made to flex that way ...

^^ someone already put me on to these, BUT my questions IS IF I went htis route, how do I compensate for the 2.5s in the rear, I guess I could use a lift block of an inch, but I hate blocks

Im told a shackle reversal wold solve this problem as well true? false?

I can picture exactly how it happened now that I look at it, the spring has no where to go when jammed upand back, but to bend.

should really be on SOA only rigs, SUA, IF you jam the spring and force it up and back, the spring will bend downward, no biggie, when you go SOA, and apply the same forces, the spring is going have a tendancy to bend upwards, it cant go down... normally the shackle would reverse itself and wrap the spring up in the shackle area, my anti wrap shackles worked... LOL... :ballsmack

OH I dont have 200 posts yet so cant post in the wanted, BUT IF ANYONE has YJ springs laying around I could prolly get by for now with just the main leaf, the rest are good, and I wont loose to much lift doing this..

anyone anyone

re stuff measure's tall im guessing they would be dam close you could allways lose a leaf out of the front pack or just put the re's on all 4 corner's ...

:dontknow:

that would mean buying 4 new springs and maybe losing lift.... hmmm

OME said no on the warranty...

nixeh the warranty.. .2 years limited warranty for defective,

slamming them into a log and binding them is not defective, they say that is damage, they did not say anythign about hte SOA being bad tho...

So choices....

http://www.rubiconexpress.com/JeepParts/Product.aspx?folder=JPLF&part=RE1445 (http://www.rubiconexpress.com/JeepParts/Product.aspx?folder=JPLF&part=RE1445)

looking at these but they are shorter by an inch but they do wrap better and read good things about them so far....

so...... anyone got any ideas.....

from talking to the OME rep, he said it dont matter what I put under there there is going to be the tendancy to want to do it, even more so being SOA, so they will sell me a new pack for 65 bucks... but F#@k me I dont want to use OME again if no warranty...

going to send RE an email and se what they warranty.... but their pack is 165 each, BUT is made for SOA, my OME started to sag a bit on the front after the SOA, not bad but enought I could notice...

the drama continues

Need to ad a long travel front driveshaft to the front as well then unless u like putting it back together all the time and even with the anti wrap bar you just wear springs out every year but it can be done [cheers]

yes its the fronts taht are bent....

for cheapness sake right now, I prolly gonna go with the OME ones again, but will look into the RE, or even ALcans, I emailed them yesterday as well, they need 2-3 weeks to make them, and some speds on my jeep, and what I do with it.. I sent some pics nad some info... get back to me today.

Anyhow, couple questions, How does a shackle reversal wear springs out any faster?

and ya, my front shaft was not in, but I can only imagine if it was, that would have bound up my hole Tcase and shit, how do I avoid this?, not that I plan on bending springs every month, but that would not have been pretty..

at first one would think....

I callled every wrecker in town yesterday, this IS the cheapest way for now... the only retard in town that had any and I wont say names cause some ppl here are from PG, but they wanted $100 PER pack from an old YJ.... go fuck yourself

Im sorry can you repeat that ya 100 bucks, I told them I can get the OMEs or even RE for 65-150.... SO WTF.... anyhow.... called to get one made from a local spring shop, both wanted over 130 to make a main leaf for me....

this is the cheapest and quickest way for me to get back on the road.... Once I find a 44 I will re-examine the front then...

This all happened from being towed, I was not driving, I was being towed after breaking myrear shaft and I ddi not have my front in top limp home.. I was towed thru a water hole and well the guy did not want to get stuck so was going prolly to fast, anyhow hit somehting underneath and jammed the schackle...... not really the springs fault, prolly any spring would have done the same

well after some bickering they are sending me 2 new OME springs for 50 bucks a piece.... this is the quickest and easiet ay to get mobile again, Iwill pop these in for now, prolly do the Shackle reverse, and in spring when I get me a 44 and the 8.8 is ready, I will upgrade the springs all around then if needs be...

worst case I can get 50 bucks for used OME springs any day of the week....

so I wont be out naything in the end.
