The Boggers are at about 50-60% so itís time to sell them off and look for some new boots. Iím running mostly muddy rooty trails and donít need any kind of sticky rock tires. What would you guys recommend and why?

how have the boggers worked for you kev? nothing wrong with sticking to those if you liked em. I'd also try tsl or sx's even. for a more streetable tire i'd go new mt/r with Kevlar for sure, or a set of trxus.

I love my SX's. Pretty sure they have the strongest sidewall out of all the Swampers, too. Just groove the chevrons in half, and you'll be laughing. Unless you get the SX II's, then they are already grooved.

SSR:
The SSR Series of Super Swamper Radial/TSL tires is the next generation of light truck radial tires. This series has many of the OEM sizes for Sport Utility Vehicles and 4 Wheel Drive light trucks who do not want to modify their vehicles but still need the performance of Super Swampers. The design incorporates a slightly tighter tread pattern, siping for wet pavement traction and icy conditions, greater sidewall protection with traction features and is quieter running.

http://www.intercotire.com/tire_photos/ssukeb4lmmtks_sm.jpg

TSL:
1970 was the year when the world's first 78 series full traction tire was introduced. The original Swamper tire is the most copied and imitated of all RV traction tires. The Super Swamper TSL, when compared to the Swamper, offers even more ... increased mileage, deeper treads, quiter, smoother ride, less rolling resistance and tougher sidewalls. Special Order Only.

I've had; 35" BFG all terrains, 35" bfg muds, 35" bfg mud km's' 35" TSL boggers, 38" boggers. and have 38" SXs ............. if "I" were to get another set strictly for off road, I'd go w/ boggers
my 2 cents

so you'd do ok w/ a set of 31" thornbirds for what you do

ill second that the ssr is for a dd that's see's limited off road time ... i would never run that tire on a rig of mine ...

here's a q for you kev ... seeing as your on beadlocks and bogger's how much do you notice the balance's issues so many others find with similar set up's ... ie are you on top of setting your air pressure for to work and back ? do you run balancing beads in them ? do you just drive according to were the shake the least ? ....

and lastly did you ever get those grooved ? that could get you some more time and added traction till you make up your mind what your after ....

id be looking at the ltb , sx pitbull rocker , maxxis trepador's or creepys can't remember witch is witch at the moment if i was in your situation for a dedicated off roads tire that goes on the street ...

Tire opinions always seem to be biased ( :D ) by what the person is using on their own truck.
I've wheeled with these on my trucks:
BFG Muds Radials
Goodyear MT/R's (2 different sets) Radials
BFG Krawlers Radials
BFG KM2's (Krawler wannabe's) Radials
Swamper SX's (2 different sets) Bias ply

For a modified wheeler, that doesn't see street much, I'd have to say do not get a radial tire. Get bias ply tires only. Especially since you have the Boggers now. You won't be happy with a radial of any sort. IMO.

Silly rabbits, he could get decent money for his used tires and put it towards new freshies, cuts the cost way down and and ya get new tires out of the deal and help less fortunate wheelers out. I have done this for 15 plus years;)

Ya I know. Just jabbin' [f] I do the same thing but I'm such a softy that when I see the snotty nosed kid come around to buy them I end up practically giving them away. Oh well!

If you want something "new" Kev why not Boggers again and at the same time buy a groover and really customize your tire.

Here's some. I like the squiggle grooves. Also another set with the smaller lugs removed entirely.

The abuse the carcass has seen really isnt obvious till your past 50% of the life of the tire. When you buy a tire that is 50%tread you are really getting 50% of the tire and 35-40% of the tread (depending on how it has been overstretched or abused with low pressures ,over inflation , bruised etc).It can still be a really good deal to someone and lets them have a taste of a certain tire for a reasonable price.which would you rather run on 100% to 50% then sellem off or 50% to , 0% and spent the last 15 % of the tires being useless for off road?

SuperSwamper TSL Bias.

Great for BC trails, and decent on the road. They do make noise, but im sure your used to that with the booogers.

I had a 1" gash ride in the sidewall of mine and I air'd down to 4psi regularly with out it blowing out.

They have a 6 ply sidewall and a ridiculously thick carcass. Once they get down to the lug stabilizer bars you can go and groove them and get another 30-40% out of them.

TSL handsdown, they are like a bogger but with sidehill traction.
