When I'm in 2wd I get road noise that sounds like the front end is in 4wd eventhough light on dash says 2wd. I pulled over a driveshaft was unnlocked. I was thinking maybe cv joints are going? It has 250,000 kms on it. I noticed when I turn sharply around corners going left sound goes away... any ideas??

Your always in 4 wheel drive in newer trucks the transfer case just doesn't send power to the front end but its always spinning so the unit bearing is going and u better get it fixed cuz they can cause some damage if they go.

well it sounds like a wheel bearing noise but just to double check jack the front end up put jack stands underneath it let it down on the jacks stands then lift on the bottom and top of the tire in an towards you motion back and forth there should be less then 1/8" of movement there and if its sloppy then you def need a wheel bearing hub assembly
