Well I know everyone can't stand having to pay for that joke called aircare every couple years. I honestly can't stand it as well until it really saved my ass in a way today.

I'm looking for a new vehicle (Toyota 4runner) and found a real nice one today. It's in mint condition inside and out. Took it for a test drive and I'm super happy it has a rear Electric locker and found out I work with his ex g/f's sister. it's a 98 4runner Limited full leather power option's and all that. So I get the VIN number run it at the closest insurance agency and no claims other then it being out of province in 02.

No big deal I will pay BCAA to get the inspection done and he agreed as well. So I get home and remember you can go on http://www.aircare.ca/inspinfo-get-results.php to find out what the km's were at the last time it went through. Low and behold I found out back in Nov it had 260k and now it has only 230k.go fuck yourself

Dammit but you know what I'm happy that Aircare has that option and wonder how many people actually know you can go to the website and get it checked for FREE.

Well thank you Aircare and hopefully if you didn't know about this service you do now, it can save your ass like I just saved mine.

[cheers]

fyi thier info isnt always correct. I used to work in an auto shop and part of my job was to drive cars to aircare. probably did 300 cars in the 4 years i worked there. I'd say 3/10 times the mileage they put down wasnt correct. One time they put 600,000 instead of 60,000.

it had 268K on the aircare site and the truck shows 233k. It was tested last in Nov so not that long ago and he said the truck doesn't go anywhere.

The Odometer Readings are given to AirCare inspectors by the motorist and cannot be guaranteed for accuracy

Why even go through the effort. There's lots of 4runner's out there and I have until Nov to find one since thats when my lease on the Mazda is up.

I did the samething but I found out after I bought the car it had way more then I was told but wasn't to worried I didn't pay a lot for it but its more of a problem on the older vehicles with only 5 digits u have no idea how many times its gone around. If yea got time I wouldn't rush into it wait and see might get luck once summer is over.

Mine for aircare says it has 23,000km on it when it actually has 267,000 now. Guess my odo is wrong and I should turn it back to what aircare says it is

why would you pay for bcaa to inspect it? if u get it done fine. if it doesn't even pass with their 1001.1 inspection make the owner pay for it. km readings can be fucked with no prob. easily. ask the owner, find out what's up and good luck.

Seems you may have found one good use for AirCare, and even it is suspect.
It is well past time for it to die.
