Having a guest from Australia, I decided to go on a road trip & drag him along so he can see some of this beautiful country & so we're halfway through the road trip now... Vancouver - Jasper - Edmonton - Fort St John - Watson Lake - Whitehorse is where we've made it so far.... right now we're in whitehorse... and I can't sleep because its 12:30am and it looks like its about 7 or 8pm.

These are a few select pics from the trip... rest are in my Facebook albums. (There's waaaayyyyy too many to post them all on here so I've picked out the ones I particularly like)

Silly but I got myself so worked up over seeing wildlife, that I began to spot moose literally everywhere. At 4am when I saw this elk, I thought it was a Moose until I spent 10 min with them and realized it couldn't possibly be hahaha...

Gully just between Dawson Creek & Fort St John...

Black bear we saw on the way back from the falls

I did some "gentle" wheeling, but my exhaust still fell right off, so I had to jerry rig it up with what few supplies I could find between Fort Nelson & Watson Lake...

One of many ghost towns we saw along the alaska hwy

The various lines and angles in this rock face I found interesting :)
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a1/Sinistress/112.jpg

We pulled over to read an information sign about flash floods, when we turned around to go back to the Jeep we saw these 2 waterfalls... which we would've missed entirely if we hadn't pulled over!

Just pulled over by Muncho lake

Mmm... Bison are tasty!

Being in a bit of a rush to get to Edmonton we didn't actually stop at any of the "Point of Interests" along the road to Jasper.... being in less of a hurry to get to Watson lake we stopped quite a few times, this was the only actual "point of interest" posted though :) Kind of makes me wish I'd stopped for some of the others.

I find these lagoons with their dark still waters creepy, and fascinating...

Not technically in BC, this is the sign forest in Watson Lake Yukon... :)

Tonight I've got taken some other pictures, what it looks like Whitehorse at 11pm, 12am, and 1am.... will post those tomorrow when I get them off the camera :D

If you have the time, drive the Dempster highway to Inuvik...

Then go check out the inuvik taxies while your there. I'll betcha you'll think your in downtown Vancouver. Least that was the case 14 years ago....

Haha yes it does but believe me there are really really limited supplies in the wee wee gas stations along that route lmao I figured we didn't need 50' of rope but yeah, I've tied it up a few times now :P Definitely gonna try to find something that "doesn't" melt before I head home.

Not technically BC -- But I had to get pics anyways because its wreaking havoc with my insomnia lol

It didn't get much darker than you see there at 1am...

I wish I could drive up to Inuvik, but I think I'm going to have to save that for a trip when I have a slightly less busted vehicle LOL

More pics to come, we're driving home along the Cassiar hwy so should have some different scenery to look at :)

hey looks like your in riverdale... lol if you have the time take a drive upto dawson city and go to diamond tooth gerdy's you'll love it... and if your in riverdale there for a bit take that jeep your driving and theres a fun trail off grey mountain takes you to a very nice lake and some cool vantage points.. go up grey mountain when you hit the big parking lot turn around and take the first trail off to the left and as for fixin the exhaust goto canadian tire and when your coming back down to bc you should take the dease lake road but i would recommend packing at least 1 jerry can of gas (gets exspensive in the middle) this road has warm lakes and way better scenery then the alaska highway you turn on it just before watson lake at junction 37 the roads a little rough at the beginning but is brand new just after dease lake.

We are definitely coming home via the Cassiar hwy for sure :)
Might not have time to check out Grey Mtn but will see, am definitely in Riverdale LOL Just asked the friend I'm staying with :) She knows where it is apparently... so I might check it out tomorrow.. but we were probably actually gonna start the drive home at some point tomorrow too so we'll see :)

your two blocks from my house i live on takhini ave but am in westbank at the moment. the first lake you come to on the cassier highway is fed by a under ground hotspring so its nice and warm. if you have the time you might wanna check out the glacier by stuart its about a 45 min drive if i remember right so 90 min down to it and back.

Awesome, ty for the info! There's a lot of very nice rigs around here, looks like some good wheelin' :D Was hard not to take the Jeep off the road on the way into town there was some nice looking trails running alongside & then going off into the bush, just beside the hwy

More pictures!

We went on the tour of the S.S. Klondike, (once again I took a ton of pics, the front the back and the lounge are the ones I've uploaded, rest will be on facebook)

Then we went sight seeing around the "city" & found this truck :D

http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a1/Sinistress/101.jpg

Then another 'attraction' is the log cabin "skyscraper" as they seem to call it... apparently the law is that no building can be over 4 stories tall in Whitehorse, so this is a "skyscraper" by municipal laws at least...
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a1/Sinistress/104.jpg

We also checked out Miles Canyon today... (above pics were yesterday) The water is an indescribable shade of blue/green.. it is GORGEOUS and the camera that I was using sadly did not do it justice!

Apparently there's boat tours that you can go on of the lake & canyon as well :)

Didn't get a chance to check out the Mtn unfortunately, but in good news, I did go to Canadian Tire & got some stuff better than rope to reattach my muffler, crawled under the Jeep & it should hold all the way home if I am nice to the vehicle and don't beat it up too much :P ...its pretty nice, I can actually hear my music now hahaha

Cheers!
