i got a 9' deck already for it picked it up for $150 , might still be intertested in some parts off that f350 though , just picked up a dana 60 yesterday for it ,

the truck will see the scrap yard quite a bit but it will never stay there lol , just adding to my fleet , i already got a flatdeck towtruck , figured this would make a good DD/ small job truck , more to come

that thing looked cool. had the lights in the grill and all blacked out. reminded me of a fbi or cop truck in an 80's action movie[36]

now i wanna see it lol someone take a pic for me lol

stared doin a little bit of painting lastnight , rockguarded the bottom of the doors and started cleaning up the frame to do the same , was also debating on weather or not to do a shackle flip in the rear , im just wonder if that would be the best thing to do if im hauling heavy loads all the time  what do you guys think?

85chevy
05-30-2010, 04:15 PM
I don't think the shackle flip affects the load rating. I would assume putting blocks or weaker springs would be worse then doing the shackle flip to a vehicle.

skyjacker
05-31-2010, 05:01 PM
ya thats what i figured too [cheers] shackle flip next on the list

skyjacker
06-09-2010, 11:24 PM
got some more done in the last week , got the bottom of my doors/rockers rock guarded , also put a new grill and lights on as well as compleated the shackle flip and undercoated the frame

06-19-2010, 09:20 PM

skyjacker
06-21-2010, 10:18 PM
ya plannin on doin that i just mocked it up in there too see if i was gonna halfto get the front springs re-arched to level it off with the rear but the 60 gave it 2" in the front so once i get my deck on it should sit pritty good

Did you use the F350 ubolt plate or get custom ubolts made up?

I have a D60 to put into my F250 as well and that is the only thing stopping me right now - I have read that you need the ubolt plate from the F350, but I don't have one.

skyjacker
07-09-2010, 06:53 PM

Got a little bit done this weekend on this thing , my buddy came over and patched up the new rad support and I ripped the interior apart , few small rust holes in the floor to patch up , also got the bigger brake booster in and picked up a 91 f250 diesel for the rest of the parts I need turns out it was cheeper to buy a parts truck than buy the rest of what I need

Lots of progress on this thing in the last while just haven't had time to post it up

Swapped the cab and deck over to the diesel frame , it started out on a bad note I had the body and deck unbolted and no front end in it , I jacked up the ass end to take the tires off and as soon as I removed the passenger rear it flopped cab and deck slid sideways , no damage just a pain in the ass to get it upright again
http://i962.photobucket.com/albums/ae109/redneckj-bird/null_zps170c08cd.jpg
http://i962.photobucket.com/albums/ae109/redneckj-bird/null_zps9e8fc9a1.jpg

Swapped the cab and deck over with the excavator

http://i962.photobucket.com/albums/ae109/redneckj-bird/null_zpsc8e4688a.jpg

Then we brought it in the shop and started putting all the pieces back on
http://i962.photobucket.com/albums/ae109/redneckj-bird/null_zpsff6e2c16.jpg
http://i962.photobucket.com/albums/ae109/redneckj-bird/null_zps791dd932.jpg

http://i962.photobucket.com/albums/ae109/redneckj-bird/null_zpsa98d2239.jpg

Then ripped the zf5 apart to put new syncroes in it
http://i962.photobucket.com/albums/ae109/redneckj-bird/null_zps8b6f0c5a.jpg
http://i962.photobucket.com/albums/ae109/redneckj-bird/null_zps0e855004.jpg
http://i962.photobucket.com/albums/ae109/redneckj-bird/null_zps97170507.jpg

Repaired a few small rust holes in the floor then painted the whole thing
http://i962.photobucket.com/albums/ae109/redneckj-bird/null_zps30f54347.jpg

Then got to work making a custom mount for the brown leather lariat superduty seats and center console

Well after 4 days of trying to finish this thing it still aint done have a brake problem , get a nice pedal with truck not running but as soon as I fire it up it goes spongy and drops to the floor , checked the vacume pump and it's sitting at a solid 20 which is about what it should be , bled the abs modgual on the frame still nothing

We had the same problem on a truck at work at replaced the booster and master and that didn't solve the problem either so I'm at a loss here

Also have a wireing issue with signals

So anyone who wants some cash or beer come help b4 I bring it in for scrap lol

hahahaahahahh dont scrap her...............
so did u swap the booster on this truck? or only on the one at work?

did u see if the booster or master is leaking pressure internally??..
same thing happened on my f-150........ then finally figured soem of booster had ruptured inside and loses pressure.. only when running of course...

still had brakes.....
but they were not very responsive , and the pedal travel was ridiculous....
push pedal in fast there was tight brakes :confused0006: but the pedal would slowly keep goin down...........
took a while to find the problem , but a new to the truck booster...
n shes been fine since!!.
..
.
this probably is not applicable.....
but the truks commin along nicely....

...... and it wouldnt be fun if it all worked perfectly the first time:D .
.
stupid lil gremlins........:)

I didn't do the booster on this one I just figured that it wasn't the problem because the one at work had the exact same issues and we replaced both the booster and master and it changed nothing , then the boss man decided to drive it anyway and rear drums where close to lighting on fire lol

It's a puzzler lol , I've dumped a lot of money into this thing and I'd like to just fix the problem instead of replace things untill I find the problem lol

I have a spare booster mabey ill throw it in see what happens

Not loosing fluid as far as I know I went threw the whole system 3 times checking for leaks and can't see anything leaking

It just has rear abs on it I'm not sure of the exact type of system it is if there are different ones
