Anyone here real familiar with these cars? I might be aquiring one with a MR2 supercharge 1.6 in it.
Heres a link to what it looks like but the one I might be getting has door mirrors and no red stripe. It seems to be rust free and have a solid floor, trunk, bumpers and frame rails but the interior looks like a badger got in there and the wiring and custom parts of the job leaves plenty to be desired

phil i would go with an older supra motor if you can squeeze it in,the cars weigh nothing to begin with,a buddy had one with a 22r in it and it was stupid fast[cheers]

No I'll be leaving the MR2 motor in it. Stock it makes 160+hp (way more then a 22r) and I can swap out to a smaller pulley or pull the SC in favour of a turbo and pull way more ponies and not fuck the balance. Remeber 5m's and 7m's are heavy junk and 2jz's are just to heavy for such a small car and the tranny's are huge.
If I was to replace the motor, I'd go with a nissan CA18det or SR20det.

145hp in the MR2 SC motors, unless it has one of the 20v (black top I believe they were called) motors in it. Then the motor is probably worth more than the car itself, lol.

The SC on those motors are clutched too, I believe you can run them to a button so you can turn it on and off. It will be a fun setup Phil!
