Went to eagle on the weekend and landed nicely on a rock and dented my Skid plate and gas tank . Wondering if it is possible to just unbolt the rear bolts (to body) for the Skid plate and then hammer or bend back out?? Without the whole gas tank falling down. I assume the factory skid plate is bolted over the fuel tank, so this should not happen.

Any ideas?

I wouldnt worry about a little dent like that, it looks even look like it hit the plastic tank

Oh yeah dented the plastic tank inside as well... Figure I will take it down after this weekend and put a new skid plate with an extra 1" clearance and tuk it under as I have a 2" body lift![36]

I've dented mine way worse, just take it off and hammer it flat again

Cool. The gas tank itself has to be disconnected first to remove skid ??

Just unbolt the rear bolts, the tank will not fall out as long as it is not full. Get out BFH and beat away. :D

ive used compressed air to pop tanks back to shape (metal ones in the cherokee) not sure if it works the same on a plastic tank, i would think it would work easier, like a bloated milk jug...

my gas tank skid is in all sorts of directions from repeated hits :) that one looks like mine the first time I pulled it off to fix it up (done it three times now, too lazy to do it again lol)oh yeah
