I have never seen a army base at pitt river I have seen the super secret base on burke road.

There are still remains at the b25 crash site. I can make it in in 3 days Some really really good aftifacts on the plane still. The location is a secret and will remain. The emergency beacon is still there even. You need serious mounterneering skills to get to it. the crash site would be considered an archeological site, and the wreckage the property of the government, its a hard hike/climb in with no trail. More snow is melting away and exposing the wreck. Some remains were found last year and some one took the us issue flair gun from the wreckage.

The wreakage has been left for so long out of respect for the familys. The wreackage is rumored to have gone down with 800000 in cash and a few gold bars to pay the troops on the coast.

crazy. ^ thanks for that history trooper thats awesome! Makes me wanna see it more. Apprently the army base / airforce airfield, is hidden in near the northern tip of pitt lake and was used as a station during the cold war. this is what ive heard and have only seen it on a map once and have not been able to track anything else down since.. its quite a ways in from the northern tip but it almost looks like u need a boat to drop you off and then a long hike in.

You may be mistaken for stave. There is an old air feild and hangar/base at stave. I have never heard of an airbase at pitt lake. A refilling airfeild for cold war era would be huge. I know pitt lake pretty well have hiked in several times from squamish. I would be carefull hiking on the north end of the lake right now, allot of poeple planting and gaurding weed plants right now.

pm me if you got any questions about the area. I have current large format surveying maps of the area
